Seller Comments...
This handmade, one of a kind sterling silver and 14k gold collar with chunks and cabachons of turquoise, represents the most time and fun that I've ever put into a piece of jewelry. I've made some elaborate pieces in the past, but I believe that to date, this is my ultimate masterpiece. It consists of an adjustable (approximatelty 16" to 20") sterling wire, with 24- 2 1/4" to 7 1/4" hanging sections. Each one of these hanging sections is unique and contains a variety of elements. As I said before, I've never put this amount of time into any of my work. I almost wish I hadn't finished it because it represents so much enjoyment, scrutiny, passion, creative pleasure and focus. I was beginning to find myself in an awkward place when I began making this necklace. Because I strictly sell on the internet, I was wondering if I should start focusing more on less expensive, mostly silver pieces that didn't take a lot of time to make. I was thinking that this might inspire some people to buy something. I came to the conclusion that the entire reason why I make jewelry is to make pieces like this. I love to make jewelry that's different and special...the kind of jewelry that takes real time and true focus. After coming to that realization, this was the first piece I made. I can't wait to see it on my model, Michelle Spaleta. I envision this necklace on tan or dark skin and a beautiful long neck. I think this necklace would be perfect with a fantastic evening gown, a slinky cocktail dress, or even a pair of nice fitting jeans with a tailored, white button down blouse. As you can probably tell by now, I am in love with this necklace. Whoever ends up with it, is required to send me a photo of them wearing it! I need to be able to see the complete picture. This piece is engraved with my initials and the metals used. It's also engraved with "2" indicating when it was made, and #1 as there is one only.
