The Pigeon Point Lightstation first came into service in 1872. Standing 115-feet, the Pigeon Point Lightstation is one of the tallest lighthouses in America. The Pigeon Point Lightstation is located on Pacific Coast Highway 1, 50 miles south of San Francisco and 27 miles north of Santa Cruz. The buildings of Pigeon Point Lightstation have become a youth hostel and provide overnight lodging for up to 50 people of all ages.
