A native of Great Britain, John Seerey-Lester has technically been an artist since the age of nine. He attended the Salford Technical College in Lancashire, England, then held positions in marketing and publishing before becoming a professional artist in 1974. It was his first excursion to Nairobi, Kenya that convinced the successful painter to change genres from Victorian street scenes to wildlife. In 1982, John moved from England to Florida to pursue wildlife painting.
Since then, he has developed an international reputation painting birds and animals, from blue jays to elephants, ensuring that his art is an interactive and exciting experience for his viewers.
It is John Seerey-Lester’s commitment to personally observe the animals he paints in their natural habitats that has fostered his reputation for authenticity among critics and collectors.
