Jasper Johns "Target 1970"

Medium: original offset lithograph and mixed media collage and multiple. Catalogue reference: Gemini 276. Executed in 1971; this impression was published by Gemini G.E.L. the same year. Size: 10 1/2 x 8 1/2 inches. Condition: in good condition with the paintbrush and paint cakes still intact; there is darkening to part of the blue paint cake. Issued mounted inside a white plastic clamshell case along with Gemini's "Technics and Creativity" catalogue; both the case and catalogue are included with the sale.

This multiple consists of a real paintbrush and three actual watercolor paint cakes mounted onto a two-color offset lithograph. Signed in the image (not by hand). Jasper Johns invites you to collaborate with him and complete the work, creating your own version of his Target. A vintage Pop Art classic!
