36"w x 11"h image size (44.1”w x 18.3”h overall print size) digital inkject print on Satin Hahnemuhle Photo Rag Paper stock. Limited edition (published in 2007) of 150 signed and numbered by the artist, Jamie Reid.
Unmatted/unframed - Sorry, but due to its size, we do not offer a matting/framing package option for this print.
The original of this masterwork is 7 feet high and 26 feet long, and features a hand-carved Frick+Frack frame containing many of Reid's slogans. Originally started in 1982 on the wall of the now-defunct Brixton Art Gallery (in fact, the six panels that make up the work are still affixed to the gallery walls, which were removed after the exhibition), this mural has been displayed around the world.
It's comprised of almost all of the art, promotional and press materials, and memorabilia produced by Reid during his relationship with the Sex Pistols (including a large bounced check from Malcolm Mclaren) and includes posters for “Anarchy In The U.K.”, “God Save The Queen”, “Pretty Vacant”, two versions of “Holidays In The Sun”, “The Great Rock'n'Roll Swindle” (single and album) and “Something Else”. Though it was completed in 1983, the piece has had a number of hand-written comments added by the artist over the years.
A major work of art in every sense, this piece has been exhibited in the Pompidou Centre in Paris, the ICA London, and various other shows in Britain, Japan and the U.S.. When on tour, the mural is always displayed with a cheese plant and fire extinguisher in front of it.
