Paul Fortis

Artist Bio

Paul Fortis received his Bachelors of Fine Arts degree from University of California – Santa Cruz in 1978. He studied plein air painting and various printmaking methods. Paul has continued painting outdoors on California’s central coast for the past 21 years. His medium of choice is chalk pastel, and his pieces reflect the beautiful quality of light found in this area. The artist also works in monotype printmaking in his Santa Cruz studio. His prints explore color and pattern in this viscosity ink process. Paul’s work can be found in private and corporate collections in the San Francisco Bay area.
