Another Time by Wendy Corbett

"Southport is my nearest beach; I can get there quite quickly if the sky looks promising. I was cleaning the windows one Saturday afternoon and noticed some really interesting clouds forming, so cloth and bucket were abandoned and I headed for the beach. It was a freezing cold day and as Southport is a huge expanse of sand, the wind invariably howls across it. Occasionally it brings some stunning moments in time like this one. That instant as the sun bursts from behind the clouds is one I never grow tired of watching. I still feel that tingle of excitement waiting for that certain moment, even if all the while I am aware that my hands and feet are going slowly numb with the cold. But it still gives me the feeling that I have been taken to 'Another Time', because this scene will have been played out in the same way since time began. "
