(Note: Photo closeup on right was taken with natural light and the sculpture's light turned on. Photo on the left was taken with flash and spots and sculpture's light turned off.)

An art deco perfume bottle surrounded by 2 concentric cirles, a musical score made of high cotton fiber paper and a snare drum, are central to this piece. Running through the middle is a violin with a semi-circle cut out of it, intended to accentuate this circular motif.

A violin neck at the top is offset to the right. This highlights the border of the drum, similar to how light might be offset when a stick is placed in water.

For this work, objects are placed inside a (circular) frame, instead of simply placing them on top (similar to most earlier works). This gives a greater feeling of dimension or depth.

Georges Braque and Joseph Cornell are two artists that were influential in the development of this piece.
