The "church lady" was a wonderful inspiration from a friend of mine. His devout commitment to a higher power moved me to create a woman, strong in her will, and power to succeed.

This piece was sculpted in a modeling compound, cast in plaster, then dusted with sand. I love the way sand adheres to the pieces I do, it's almost as if I am creating an ancient ruin.
