Fleur de lys ready to hang frameless glass wall art by American artist Linda Paul
1 in stock ready to ship immediately. You can buy more, they will take 4-5 weeks for the artist to create them.
About this artwork:
The center of the artwork is a 13" x 13" beveled glass mirror with a fleur de lys in beveled glass relief. The glass of the fleur di lis has been gilded by artist Linda Paul on the back in pure 24 karat gold flecks then backed in pure copper leaf. The glass shimmers and reflects light like jewels. Surrounding the mirror is both silver and copper backed hand gilded beveled glass with inlaid flecks of 23 karat gold. The pieces of beveled glass and center mirror are mounted on a 2" thick cradled board. The sides are hand-painted in a copper color.
This ready to hang frameless contemporary artwork can be a focal point for any room in your house. It can even take the humidity of a bathroom . As the light changes in the room so does the artwork. Its especially pretty with candlelight reflected into the glass.
Custom orders: These can be custom made in other shapes and sizes and the metals can also be changed. For example , you may prefer to have silver or gold surrounding the outer edges instead of copper. A set of three can be created as well.
Cleaning is a breeze! Just use Windex and a soft cloth. (Its best to spray the glass cleaner on the cloth rather than directly on the artwork)
Meaning of fleur de lis:
The fleur de lis is a stylized lily. Fleur means flower in french and lis means lily. It has long been used in history for everything from decorative ornaments to kings and military insignia. Most recently it has made a resurgence in New Orleans following Hurricane Katrina as a symbol of support for the recovery. In July 2008 the fleur-de-lis became the official symbol of the state of Louisiana
