The Henry Rifle was the first repeating rifle. It held 14 to 16 rounds of .44 caliber ammo and caught the Indians completely off guard when they first encountered it. They had become expert at knowing how long it took an enem to reload and would gage their attacks accordingly. They were devastated by "Terrible Henry" until they got their hands on some.
