Noble Powell III ARTIST BIO
Noble Powell III works primarily in three genres: Abstract Expressionism, Portraiture and Landscapes of championship golf courses.
Integrating his appreciation for natural landscape and unique sense of design into every piece, Noble Powell is known for dramatically portraying the art of the course through his paintings. One of the most intriguing aspects of his style is the manner in which Powell draws the viewer into the scene, making them feel that they are an integral part of the setting. A professional painter for over 25 years, Noble depicts some of the most famous golf landscapes in the world. His limited edition prints and commissioned original paintings have been enthusiastically received in Europe, Japan, Australia as well as the United States.
Noble has most recently completed a series of original paintings of Pinehurst No. 2 and No. 8. Impressed by the quality of his work, Pinehurst commissioned Noble to create an additional painting of world famous Pinehurst No.2, site of the 1999 United States Open Championship. The painting became the centerpiece for their official poster commemorating the event. Noble Powell III has become one of the most recognized names in the world of sports art today.
