Sun-dial details-XXXV

This is a print from the Sun-dial series. In the left-hand corner we can see hints of a real sun-dial. Why has the artist included a fish with wings, a plant with the roots up from the soil in a see-through box and a human face showing in the hole in the middle of the picture? We do not know - do you?

This is an original aquatint etching. The print is sold unframed for easy delivery.
The size of the paper the print is printed on is 18*25 cm (7,1*9,8 inch) (not showed in full on the screen).
The picture area is 12,5*16 cm (4,9*6,1 inch).
The size of the edition is only 40, and the print is signed and numbered by the artist.
