Donald Munz
HISTORY & BACKGROUND

Artist Don Munz is a native of California, born in San Francisco and raised in Northern California.

He earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree with honors from Art Center College of Design, Los Angeles. His master's degree is from California State University.
Don taught art subjects for nine years in the Art Department at Pasadena College until the late seventies when he retired.

Finding great fulfillment in preserving California landscapes, Don is constantly searching for backcountry vistas that are off of the “beaten path”. By touching upon the tranquil feeling inherent in these rural areas, Don makes time stand still so that viewers are free to step into and enjoy scenes of peace and tranquility. Don hopes to motivate those who appreciate his paintings to translate their appreciation into support, not only for the preservation of traditional art, but also for the preservation of the unspoiled scenes his paintings represent.

Don is an Artist Member of the California Art Club and Oil Painters of America. His paintings have been repeatedly selected for exhibition in the California Art Club’s annual Gold Medal Exhibition. Galleries in Los Angeles, Carmel and San Francisco currently represent him.
