David Ward was born in Yorkshire, England and immigrated to Canada in 1977. He studied graphic design at George Brown College and, upon leaving, pursued a career in graphic design.
In 1987, spurred on by his success in a number of shows, David decided to leave the security of the design world to paint full time. His extensive traveling has led to a rich array of paintings which now hang in private and corporate collections in Canada, the United States, Great Britain, Australia, Japan, and Korea.
David has had his paintings accepted by the Leigh Yawkey Woodson Museum ‘Birds in Art’ International Exhibition.
In 1992, David and two other Canadian artists were invited to exhibit at the Lotte Gallery in Seoul, South Korea. It was the first time artists from North America were extended this privilege.
