My passion is to create and share my Art with others. I want to provoke a connection with the viewer to explore the canvas. I feel a large format can over power the viewer
to explore the subtle intimate movements that I create by line, color, shape and form.
The style in which I paint in is surrealistic cubism. Dream like atmosphere or
quality mixed with fractional elements of line, colour, shape and form. By using
this style I am able to create symbolic attributes and metaphors. Colour can represent human character and emotion whereas line shape and form can represent persons,
ideas and places. In this style I can enter change colour to represent persons, ideas
and places and line, shape, and form can represent human character and emotion.
In this style, I am working on two series one is conceptual. Example the painting Barriers focal point is a broken tricycle. The chromatic red stands alone among the monochromatic shapes. Red is symbolic of strength, power, and love. The object a
tricycle can be symbolic for a person, a means of movement a tool to over come an
obstacle. Large doors a metaphor for a barrier. Although the door or doors are large
the hue of the barrier is monochromatic this is symbolic for lack of strength.. This
is one painting of many for viewers to explore and discuss with others. Although
Barriers is a conceptual painting its aesthetics deal with the design element
which brings me two the second series abstraction.
These paintings deal with the simplistic movement. I enjoy moving the viewer in
and out of the compositions by line, colour and shape. Example: Abstract IV red the focal point surrounded by yellow shapes surrounded by cool hues. I mixed in line
directing the eye in and out of the composition of hues. With these paintings the viewer can create his or her own reality of what the painting means or represents. Art to me
is a connection with others a visual relationship between the Artist and the Viewer.
